Wartski, a Welsh family-run jewelry business founded in 1865, crafted the band from gold mined from the mountains near Anglesey in Wales, where the newlyweds will live.
The gold nugget used to make the ring belonged to Queen Elizabeth II, who kept it in a vault for years before she made a gift of the precious metal to her then-engaged grandson.

And of course, we don’t have to mention that other ring, a sapphire-and-diamond sparkler that William inherited from his mother, the late Princess Diana.

Nick Lachey married Jessica Simpson on a rainy October day at the Riverbend Church in Austin, Texas. The 5 p.m. ceremony took place at Smith Family Chapel in front of 350 guests, including Nick’s 98 Degrees band members Drew Lachey and Justin Jeffries. The couple worked with wedding planner Mindy Weiss to create a soft romantic look. Hundreds of candles and pale pink roses were placed throughout the church.
